ITANAGAR, Sep 28: Arunachal Pradesh Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Ojing Tasing, who is also Chairman of the Empowered High-Level Committee on the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP), on Monday chaired a review meeting at the Siang Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall at Boleng to assess the latest developments and preparedness for the proposed Pre-Feasibility Report (PFR) activities related to the project.
The meeting undertook a detailed assessment of ground-level preparedness, security arrangements, logistical requirements and inter-agency coordination ahead of the proposed PFR-related activities.
“Joined by the Deputy Commissioner, Siang; Superintendent of Police, Siang; heads of departments (HODs); representatives of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs); and other key stakeholders, we undertook a detailed assessment of ground-level preparedness, security arrangements, logistical requirements and inter-agency coordination,” Tasing said in a social media post.
Discussions focused on strengthening field preparedness, ensuring timely availability of logistical support and maintaining effective coordination among the district administration, security forces and concerned departments.
The meeting also emphasised the importance of continuous engagement with local communities to address their concerns and ensure greater understanding regarding the proposed PFR activities, he said.
“All concerned agencies were urged to work in close coordination and discharge their respective responsibilities with diligence, sensitivity and transparency to facilitate the orderly and responsible conduct of the proposed activities,” the minister said.
The meeting identified key operational priorities and called for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure that necessary arrangements are put in place at the ground level, he added.
