ITANAGAR, Sep 28: The Career Counselling Cell of Donyi-Polo Govt College (DPGC), Kamki, in collaboration with the Delhi-based NGO Helping Hand, organized a career guidance programme at the college premises today.
Aimed at guiding and motivating students aspiring to pursue careers through competitive examinations, particularly the UPSC and APPSC, the programme was graced by Robin Hibu, Special Commissioner of Police (Delhi Armed Police) and president Helping Hand NGO; Todak Riba, Assistant Commissioner Darak circle (West Siang); and Dr Gomo Karbak, Principal DPGC.
Addressing the students, Robin Hibu highlighted various challenges faced by students from the North East in adapting to the competitive environment of mainstream India. He discussed possible ways of overcoming these challenges and shared valuable suggestions on managing the pressure associated with higher education and preparation for competitive examinations.
The resource persons, Neeraj Singh and Navneet Chabra, shared their insights on diverse sources of knowledge and information, systematic preparation, personality development, and scholarship opportunities available for students from the North East. Their interaction with the students provided practical guidance and encouraged them to approach competitive examinations with greater awareness and confidence.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the DPGC Principal highlighted the importance of providing students with proper guidance regarding various stages and levels of preparation required to succeed in competitive examinations.
The programme witnessed an engaging and interactive session, with students actively participating in discussions and putting forward their queries to the speakers and resource persons.
The event, attended by 442 students and 18 faculty members of the college, was coordinated by Dr Doge Ngomdir, Convenor, CCC, DPGC, and hosted by Gamter Ori, Assistant Professor (English).
The programme served as a meaningful platform for students to gain first-hand guidance on competitive examinations and career opportunities, and encouraged them to pursue their aspirations with determination, preparedness, and confidence.
