ITANAGAR, Sep 28: The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), in collaboration with the Research and Seminar Cell of Govt College Doimukh (GCD), conducted an outreach program at the GCD premises today to create awareness among students about career opportunities and guide them toward achieving their professional goals.
Speaking at the event, APPSC Chairman Dr Pradip Lingfa addressed the role of the APPSC as the apex body responsible for successful conduct of various examinations. Emphasizing the importance of hard work and perseverance in achieving success, he encouraged the students to work hard and avoid shortcuts in life. He also shared his own life experiences. According to him, right thought, right action, right behaviour, and right habits will lead to the right destination. Further, he said that to achieve extraordinary things in life, extraordinary efforts are required. So, students should never give up after a failure.
He exhorted students to work on personality development, which is one of the significant aspects of competitive exams. Academic achievement must go along with personality development. Students must develop communication skills and leadership qualities to prove themselves in competitive exams. He further asked them to maintain a plan for every day and follow it sincerely, because self-discipline is the mantra of success in life.
Prof Lingfa further enlightened students on the examination procedure, syllabus, and career opportunities in public service.
An interactive session with the students was also held.
Addressing the participants, APPSC member Mepung Tadar Bage urged the students to step out of their comfort zone, attend workshops, interact with people, and not to consider a government job as the only way forward. Instead, explore other areas and opportunities available, such as the private sector, entrepreneurship, technology, research, and various other fields, she said.
Further, she said that “time is the most important aspect of students’ life. This valuable time will never come back. This age is the prime stage to build their careers. Make the best use of time.”
