WRGC holds health walk, administers anti-drug pledge

DEOMALI, Oct 1: The NSS Unit of Wangcha Rajkumar Government College (WRGC), Deomali, in collaboration with the Range Forest Office, Deomali, organised a 3-km Health Walk on Thursday under the theme “My Health, My Pride”.

The programme, which began at 5 am from the college campus and concluded at the Coffee Board, aimed to encourage young people to take greater responsibility for their physical and mental well-being.

A total of 32 participants took part in the walk, including RFO Diwang Lowang, guest faculty member of the Department of Hindi, Tangmi Changmi, and NSS Programme Officer Ngamwang Lowang.

Speaking on the occasion, Diwang Lowang urged the youth to remain alert and create awareness among the public about human-elephant conflict. He also stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying away from drug abuse.

Earlier, Ngamwang Lowang highlighted the significance of the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” initiative and encouraged young people to participate actively in community service. He said a physically and mentally fit youth population could make a significant contribution to the country’s development and growth.

The programme concluded with the administration of the Nasha Mukt Pledge by Diwang Lowang. Participants pledged to stay away from substance abuse and contribute towards building a healthy, drug-free and vibrant society. (DIPRO)
