BOMDILA, Oct 3: A team from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, visited Bomdila on Saturday to review preparations for the exposition of the holy relics of Lord Buddha scheduled to be held from November 8 to 13.
The team inspected the proposed venue and reviewed arrangements related to infrastructure, security, crowd management, logistics and visitor facilities. An exhibition by the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) will also be organised during the exposition.
West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar, IBC Director Col Yash Saxena, senior district administration and departmental officers, and the Abbots of GRL Monastery (Upper Gompa) and TGL Monastery (Lower Monastery), along with senior monks, attended the assessment.
The visit focused on ensuring coordinated arrangements for the smooth conduct of the six-day exposition, which is expected to draw devotees and visitors from the region.
The district administration has invited people of West Kameng and neighbouring areas to participate in the event and extend cooperation for its peaceful and orderly conduct.
