ITANAGAR, Oct 3: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday met Rev Dramed Sungrab Tulku, Abbot of the historic Gaden Namgyal Lhatse, Tawang Monastery, along with senior monks who are currently in Itanagar to perform sacred prayers and rituals for the initiation of construction of a new Gompa at Siddhartha Vihar.
Khandu expressed gratitude to the revered monks for their blessings and prayers and said he hoped the new Gompa would emerge as a vibrant centre of Buddha Dharma.
“May the new Gompa become a vibrant centre of Buddha Dharma, spreading the timeless message of peace, compassion and harmony for generations to come,” the Chief Minister said in a social media post.
The visit of the monastic delegation and the religious rituals mark the beginning of the process for establishing the new Buddhist centre at Siddhartha Vihar.
