ITANAGAR, Oct 3: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the latter’s Secretariat office in Guwahati and discussed measures to expedite the resolution of the remaining inter-state boundary issues between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
According to Natung, the meeting focused on sustained political dialogue and coordinated engagement between the two governments, with active participation of the Regional Committees from both sides.
Natung said the discussions emphasised resolving the outstanding issues through mutual trust, cooperation and continued dialogue while maintaining peace and harmony between the neighbouring states.
He also said the Assam Chief Minister expressed interest in strengthening the ongoing process and assured cooperation towards an early, amicable and mutually acceptable resolution of the remaining boundary issues.
The two states have been engaged in a structured process to resolve the remaining boundary disputes through political and administrative consultations involving Regional Committees.
