ZIRO, Oct 7: The Ziro-I ICDS Project under the Department of Women and Child Development concluded its fortnight-long “Angan Ki Utsav 2026–27” campaign in Lower Subansiri district on Wednesday, with six Anganwadi workers felicitated for their dedicated service to women and children.
Conducted from September 25 to October 7, the campaign focused on maternal and child nutrition, health awareness and early childhood care, with activities carried out at the community level across the district.
As part of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, Anganwadi workers worked with Panchayati Raj representatives, health and education personnel, SHGs and community members to promote awareness of nutrition during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, healthy home-based food practices and maternal welfare schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.
The campaign also featured practical demonstrations, including preparation of nutritious recipes using locally available ingredients. Nutrition kits were distributed to families along with guidance on childcare, hygiene and sanitation.
The concluding programme also recognised the contribution of frontline workers. Takhe Rinyo Bullo presented certificates of appreciation under Poshan Abhiyaan 2026–27 to six Anganwadi workers for their commitment and service to women and children.
