Security preparedness reviewed for Buddha relic exposition at Namsai

NAMSAI, Oct 8: An Advance Security Liaisoning (ASL) team from the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) and National Museum, New Delhi, reviewed security and logistical preparedness for the upcoming exposition of the Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha at the Golden Pagoda in Namsai.

The meeting was held at the Namsai Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall on October 6 and was attended by Secretary, Department of Art and Culture, Mamata Riba, IBC Director Col (Retd) Yash Saxena, officials of the National Museum and senior district administration officials.

Discussions focused on security arrangements, prescribed protocols, inter-agency coordination, visitor management, logistics and other preparations for the exposition, scheduled at the Golden Pagoda, Namsai, from November 14 to 20.

The ASL team also assessed the preparedness of the district administration and reviewed coordination mechanisms with concerned departments and agencies to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the event.

The exposition will be held at Tawang from November 1 to 7, Bomdila from November 8 to 13 and Namsai from November 14 to 20. It is expected to draw devotees, pilgrims and visitors from different parts of the country.

The meeting stressed the need for close coordination among the district administration, Department of Art and Culture, IBC, National Museum and other stakeholders to complete arrangements well in advance.
