Professor Lecture Series on contemporary Hindi poetry organized at JNC Pasighat

PASIGHAT, Oct 8: A Professor Lecture Series on contemporary Hindi poetry was organised at Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC), Pasighat, on Thursday, providing students and faculty members an opportunity to explore emerging trends, marginalised voices and critical perspectives in Hindi literature.

The programme was organised by the Central Hindi Directorate under the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Post Graduate Department of Hindi and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of JNC, Pasighat.

Dr Arundhati, subject expert and Assistant Professor, Satyawati College, University of Delhi, delivered the academic lecture, focusing on various dimensions of contemporary Hindi poetry. The technical sessions covered key themes including “Samkalin kavita: Pravrittiyan evam Vichar,”“Samkalin kavita mein hashiye ke swar,”and “Samkalin kavita aur alochana.”

Dr H N Pandey, Head of the Department of Hindi, introduced the resource person, while Dr Leki Sitang, Vice-Principal, and Dr Panda, IQAC Coordinator, highlighted the importance of such academic initiatives in broadening students’ understanding of contemporary literature.

The lecture was followed by an interactive session in which students, research scholars and faculty members discussed various aspects of contemporary Hindi poetry with the resource person.

The programme began with a welcome song presented by BA fifth-semester students and concluded with a vote of thanks by coordinator Dr Mumne Perme, followed by the National Anthem.

The organisers said the lecture series provided an academic platform for engaging with contemporary Hindi poetry and its evolving themes and critical approaches.
