NAMSAI, Oct 9: A street play under the ‘Namo Seva Ankahi Kahani’ initiative was staged at Gandhi Chowk, Namsai, as part of the Namo Seva Sankalp Utsav, highlighting government initiatives and people-centric development.
The programme was organised by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom, Dambuk MLA Puinnyo Apum and Director of Youth Affairs Ramesh Lingi, among other dignitaries.
The event was also attended by BJP State in-charge Devesh Kumar, state president Kaling Moyong, Namo Seva Ankahi Kahani state convenor Duggoli Libang, Namsai Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) Chow Sujana Namchoom, Lohit ZPC Basanlu Dellang, Zilla Parishad Members of Lekang and Piyong areas, heads of departments and other officials.
Addressing the gathering, Mein highlighted the achievements of the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing initiatives in infrastructure development, digital transformation, financial inclusion, women’s empowerment, rural development, healthcare and education.
He also appreciated the organisers and performers for using street theatre as a medium to communicate development initiatives and connect with people at the grassroots level.
The highlight of the programme was the ‘Namo Seva Ankahi Kahani’ street play, which conveyed the message of inclusive development embodied in the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas”, reflecting grassroots transformation and the aspirations of a New India.
The street-play team was felicitated in recognition of its participation and efforts to take the initiative’s message to the public. The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
