ITANAGAR, Oct 15: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Arunachal Pradesh, in coordination with the Election Commission of India (ECI), has launched a special drive across the state to enrol eligible voters who are yet to be included in the electoral rolls, with the objective of ensuring that no eligible voter is left out.
The drive covers all Assembly constituencies in the state, with special camps being organised at polling station locations from October 1 to facilitate voter enrolment and address electoral roll-related grievances.
A total of 26 District Election Officers (DEOs), 60 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), 211 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 248 Booth Level Officer (BLO) Supervisors and 2,288 BLOs have been mobilised for the exercise.
The CEO said voter enrolment is a year-round exercise, and eligible new or left-out voters can apply for inclusion in the electoral roll at any time by submitting Form 6.
Electors can also file Form 7 to raise objections to the proposed inclusion or seek deletion of a name from the existing electoral roll, while Form 8 can be used for shifting of residence, correction of entries, replacement of the Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) and marking of persons with disabilities (PwDs).
The CEO has urged citizens to check their names in the final electoral roll and submit claims or objections, wherever necessary, either offline through their respective BLOs or online through the ECI’s voter services portal at www.voters.eci.gov.in or the ECINET app.
Citizens requiring assistance or wishing to register grievances can contact the voter Helpline No. 1950 or visit the helpdesks at the offices of the respective DEOs at the district level and EROs at the Assembly constituency level during office hours.
The CEO’s office said the proactive campaign would continue across the state to ensure that all eligible citizens are included in the electoral rolls.
