ITANAGAR, Oct 15: NCC cadets from 13 states explored Itanagar’s cultural, historical and natural attractions on the sixth day of the Rising Sun Trek, organized under five NCC Directorates, with the programme highlighting national integration and cultural exchange among youth from across the country.
The sightseeing tour covered Ganga Lake, Itanagar Zoo, the JN State Museum and the local Gompa, offering the cadets insights into Arunachal Pradesh’s natural beauty, history and spiritual traditions.
The visits provided an opportunity for cadets, particularly those from outside the Northeast, to learn about the state’s distinct cultural identity and its place in India’s diverse social and cultural landscape.
The cadets also visited local markets, where interactions with shopkeepers offered them an opportunity to engage with the local community and learn about everyday life in the state.
The day concluded with presentations by cadets from the participating directorates on the heritage, culture and landmarks of their respective home states. The exchange encouraged mutual understanding and appreciation of regional diversity, while fostering friendships among participants.
The programme underscored the role of the Rising Sun Trek in promoting national integration, cultural awareness and a shared sense of belonging among young people from different parts of the country. It also highlighted the importance of embracing India’s linguistic, cultural and geographical diversity while upholding shared constitutional values.
