PASIGHAT, Oct 18: Ziro Royal Enfielders emerged champions of the fourth Federation of Arunachal Riders (FAR) Rolling Trophy 2026, defeating Arunachal Bullet Club in the final, as motorcycle riding clubs from across the State combined sporting competition with a charitable initiative for residents of Aayii Shelter Home.

The annual event brought together members of riding clubs to promote friendship, unity, discipline and social responsibility. As part of the programme, FAR members and representatives of 11 riding groups visited Aayii Shelter Home on the occasion of its first anniversary and donated essential supplies, including rice, vegetables, soap and other household necessities.

Jobom Mengu, founding member of Royal Siang Riders and organising chairman of the tournament, said FAR brings together around 30 motorcycle riding clubs from across Arunachal Pradesh, with members representing areas ranging from Longding to Tawang.

He said the annual gathering was not merely about football but also about strengthening bonds and mutual understanding among members of the riding fraternity.

“Football is just an excuse for us to meet once a year,” Mengu said.

The Federation also provides a common platform for clubs to coordinate activities and maintain discipline through established rules and regulations. Annual meetings are held alongside the tournament to review its functioning and make necessary amendments to the organisation’s bylaws.

Twelve clubs participated in this year’s football tournament, while members of other riding groups also attended the gathering. The fifth edition of the FAR Rolling Trophy will be hosted in Aalo by the 30 Degree North Riders Club.

The charitable visit to Aayii Shelter Home was led by Rohit Jomoh, moderator-in-charge of FAR, and Tasing Panyang, chief of Royal Siang Riders.

Jomoh said the annual charitable ride was aimed at supporting the shelter home and recognising its efforts to provide free accommodation and basic necessities to people facing difficult circumstances, including those without shelter or employment opportunities. He said six inmates were currently staying at the facility.

Kaling Tabing, who runs the shelter home under the Ane Siang Welfare Society, thanked the riders for their contributions, saying the donated supplies would help meet the needs of the residents. He added that the gesture also offered encouragement and a sense of belonging to those staying at the facility.

The participating riding groups included 30 Degree North, Arunachal Bullet Club, Royal Arunachal Riders, The Gliding Piranhas, Ziro Royal Enfielders, Ziro Riders Club, Buffaloes Trails, Mountain Folks, Dibang Riders, Golden Masheer and Tribal Thumpers.

The event highlighted FAR’s efforts to combine the shared passion for motorcycling with community engagement and service to society.
