ITANAGAR, Oct 23: The Paralympic Association of Arunachal (PAA) accorded a grand welcome to para athlete Boje Marbom, a blind football player from Arunachal Pradesh, following his successful participation in the Asian Para Games 2026 held at Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The reception aimed to honour his participation in this prestigious international sporting event and recognize his dedication to sports. His participation is a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh and an inspiration to aspiring para-athletes across the State, said the PAA in its press note.
The Association firmly believes that para athletes possess immense potential to win medals for Arunachal Pradesh and the nation when equipped with adequate training facilities, professional coaching, financial assistance and equal opportunities.
Meanwhile, the PAA has expressed its sincere gratitude to Chief Minister Pema Khandu and the State government, particularly the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, for their continued support, encouragement and commitment towards the development of para sports and the welfare of para athletes. “This support is instrumental in nurturing sporting talent and enabling athletes with disabilities to compete at national and international levels,” it said.
Moreover, the PAA looks forward to continued cooperation from the State government to strengthen para sports infrastructure, promote grassroots talent and provide para athletes with better training facilities and opportunities to excel in competitive sports.
