PASIGHAT, Oct 28: Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Fwwrman Brahma, who is holding additional charge of East Siang district in the absence of the regular DC, on Wednesday reviewed the progress of infrastructure projects and government flagship schemes at the monthly District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC)-cum-District Development Report (DDR) meeting in Pasighat.
The meeting, held at the DC's conference hall, reviewed ongoing works undertaken by various executing agencies, including the District Secretariat building, the Mini Secretariat at Ruksin and construction works at Arunachal Pradesh University.
Brahma urged the concerned departments to regularly monitor their projects, maintain construction quality and complete the works within stipulated timelines. He also stressed the need to resolve long-pending issues through regular reviews and better interdepartmental coordination.
Expressing concern over government buildings being handed over without adequate furniture, the DC directed departments to submit fund requisitions to their respective higher authorities in time to ensure that completed buildings become fully functional and deliver effective public services.
He also called on line departments to review the implementation of flagship Atma Nirbhar schemes, particularly those under Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, while stressing the need to monitor other flagship schemes as well.
East Siang Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ruth Tabing Boko urged executing departments to complete their assigned works on schedule and present updated physical and financial progress reports on flagship schemes during DLMC meetings.
Pasighat Municipal Council Chief Councillor Tagom Padung called for regular monitoring and joint inspection of ongoing works by the concerned departments. He also urged the departments to expedite pending payments to workers engaged in flood-related restoration and relief activities in areas affected by the monsoon floods earlier this year.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on timely project execution, effective monitoring of government schemes and coordinated efforts to address pending issues and improve public service delivery in East Siang district.
