Guv extends National Unity Day greetings

ITANAGAR, Oct 30: Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik has extended greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh on the eve of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) that commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

In his message, the Governor expressed hope that the occasion would renew people's commitment to national unity, strengthen the bonds of fraternity and inspire collective efforts towards building a stronger, harmonious and prosperous India.

Remembering Sardar Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India, Parnaik described him as a visionary leader whose determination played a defining role in the unification of the country and in laying a strong foundation for its unity and integrity.

He said Patel's courage, administrative acumen and concern for the poor and underprivileged continued to inspire generations. His life demonstrated that great achievements could be accomplished when conviction was backed by courage and differences were overcome through a shared sense of purpose, the Governor observed.

He said National Unity Day serves as a reminder that national unity must be nurtured through mutual respect, collective responsibility and a firm resolve to safeguard the country's sovereignty and constitutional values.

Calling upon the people, particularly the youth, to uphold Patel's ideals, he urged them to rise above differences, embrace diversity and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood.

“Our unity is our strength, our diversity is our pride, and our collective commitment is the foundation of our nation's future,” the Governor said, appealing to every citizen to contribute actively towards a united, peaceful and resurgent India.
